Preparing for your InBody Composition Scan
This non-invasive analysis will provide valuable insights into your body composition and help you track your progress towards your health and wellness goals. To ensure accurate and reliable results, please follow the do's and don'ts listed below before your scan. The scan itself will only take a few minutes to complete.
DO’S
Maintain normal fluid intake the day before the test.
Drink 16-20 oz of water in the morning at least an hour before the scan to ensure proper hydration.
Wear light, comfortable clothing and prepare to remove your shoes and socks. Avoid heavy clothing, such as jeans or sweaters.
Use the bathroom before the test
Take off all heavy objects such as jewelry, watches, belts, wallets, and jackets. Anything not a part of you will be counted as fat.
10 minutes prior to the scan you will be asked to stand in the waiting room to normalize your body temp with the room and have even blood flow throughout your body.
DONT’S
Refrain from consuming alcohol for 24 hours before the scan. Alcohol, as well as caffeine, can act as diuretics and affect your hydration status.
Don't consume excess caffeine for 24 hours prior to the test. If you typically have a cup of coffee in the morning, continue with your routine. Consistency is important for accurate comparisons.
Avoid drinking anything for 45 minutes prior to the test to prevent any temporary changes in hydration levels.
Do not eat or exercise for at least 2 hours (ideally 3 hours) before the scan. This allows for accurate measurement of your body composition.
Avoid using a shower or sauna within three hours before the scan, as it can temporarily affect your body's water distribution.
Do not apply lotion or ointment on your hands or feet before the scan, as it may interfere with the electrical impedance used in the measurement.
If possible, try to avoid scheduling the scan during menstruation, as hormonal fluctuations may affect the results.
