Warming Socks Treatment

This procedure should be used at the first indication of any congestion in the ears, eyes, sinus, throat, and lungs. It has also been used effectively for headaches and a variety of other conditions.

The warming socks treatment is best if repeated for many nights as necessary to improve the condition. Children love the treatment and it tends to have a calming or sedating effect on them. You can put the socks on AFTER your child has gone to bed if you wish.

Procedure:

1. If your feet are cool or cold it is important to warm them first. This is crucial for the effectiveness of the treatment. Soaking in warm water for 5-10 minutes or taking a bath or shower can accomplish warming.

2. Next, take a pair of cotton socks and get them wet with ice-cold water. Be sure to wring the socks out thoroughly until they feel wet, but not dripping.

3. Place the cold wet socks on your feet. Cover with thick wool socks or other warm socks. Go to bed or wrap up with a warm blanket. Avoid getting chilled. You can wear the socks all night or take them off 30-60 minutes later.

You will find that the wet cotton socks will be dry in the morning. Many patients report that they sleep much better during the treatment.
